Working under the bioinformatics division, I automated workflows dealing with multi-step processes used to sort information relating to gene sequencing. Using technologies like Docker, I created self-contained packages that would execute a series of scripts and utilities emulating a manual process to greatly increase speed and ease of use in these workflows.

My position at Smart Software Solutions was as a member of the QA team. My main task was checking over the work of developers and ensuring it was function and working correctly in all conditions. This involves a lot of one on one coordination with other software developers, making sure everything is working correctly. I also created and maintained automated testing using Selenium Grid. These automated tests ensure that new changes that might possibly disrupt the current system were flagged correctly before a product was launched.

My work at USD included in software development for a Bioinformatics Research Project through the Computer Science department. I wrote, developed, and helped to maintain several RESTful API clients to help consume API's of several websites such as YouTube, Khan Academy, SlideShare, and more. The information gained from these programs was used to populate a Bioinformatics database with data gleaned from clients.
