Public health practitioner with expertise in community health science and community-centered policy and practice to achieve health equity. For over 15 years, I have led program development, grants management, and research and evaluation efforts focused on health equity, community health, and chronic disease prevention. I work towards two goals: eliminating health inequities to achieve population health and improving health outcomes as one component of achieving racial justice.My research focus is private nonprofit hospital community investments and racial equity. I currently serve as a fellow with the California Initiative for Health Equity and Action, a statewide research translation center that disseminates health equity-focused evidence to inform practices and state policy. I was honored to be selected as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Research Scholar, a national leadership program that seeks to build equity by investing in scholars from populations traditionally underrepresented in graduate programs whose research, connections, and leadership will inform and influence policy.
