The Office of the Solicitor General is to obtain smart, fair, and restorative justice by pursuing a holistic, progressive approach to the criminal justice system which emphasizes public safety, criminal justice reform, community education, and resolution of traffic and misdemeanor criminal matters. Under the direction of the Deputy Chief within the Investigations Unit, leads the collection, analysis, and preservation of evidence employing modern scientific techniques to make informed decisions and conclusions for complex criminal activities.❑ Direct the efforts of designated crime scene investigators and other law enforcement personnel at crime scenes; subpoena witnesses and employ deductive reasoning and analysis to make informed decisions and conclusions that lead to prosecution.❑ Execute misdemeanor cases and violations of the county code in State and Magistrate Court, such as Simple and Family Violence Battery, Simple Assault, Stalking, DUIs, Shoplifting, Abandonment of Minor Child, Reckless Conduct, Vehicular Homicide, and Criminal Trespass.❑ Ensure that all criminal processes and individuals are treated with fair, equitable and professional courtesy by supplying information, resources, and support to victims of crime; maintain 100% of compliance and strict confidentiality in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.❑ Investigate cases bound over from Municipal Courts in various Fulton County jurisdictions; charge and prosecute misdemeanor violations of Georgia statutes and county ordinances that occur within the county. ❑ Analyze, compile detailed case reports, files, and maintain records; efficiently coordinate search/arrest warrants, and detain suspects as needed.❑ Interview and assess witnesses in preparation for court proceedings; testify in court regarding case evidence and findings to secure convictions.
