Erica Stone is President of the American Himalayan Foundation (AHF), an international NGO that works in Nepal and Tibet and with Tibetan Refugees. AHF focuses on humanitarian work—building and supporting schools and hospitals, training doctors, preventing at-risk girls from being trafficked—and cultural conservation. She joined AHF in 1991. Erica has traveled extensively throughout the Himalayan region on foot, horse, yak, truck and helicopter and delights in the most remote corners of Asia. She is a Founding Trustee of the Blum Center for Developing Economies at the University of California, a Director of Fund for the Tiger and is Vice President of the Blum Family Foundation. She was Co-Editor of Himalaya, published by National Geographic and worked closely with Richard Blum on his memoir, "An Accident of Geography," publishing date 10/11/16. Erica has trained in and taught Taekwondo for four decades and holds a fifth-degree black belt. She has a B.A. and MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
