I am passionate about understanding the science of human language, and after teaching English as a second language and training English teachers for over a decade I have transitioned to a more research- and data-oriented focus. I completed my master's degree in linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University in Spring 2020, where I wrote a research thesis on identifying and categorizing metaphoric utterances found in a natural language corpus. My linguistics specialisms include phonology, corpus analysis, semantics, and natural metaphor usage.My current work with Lighthouse Global, a legal consultancy focused on data management, marries my skillset in teaching & training with my interest in language & corpus analysis. I focus primarily on internal training and documentation to ensure Lighthouse's Research, Modeling & Analysis (RMA) team operates using best practices in order to serve our clients as effectively and efficiently as possible.
