In software development every day is another puzzle to be solved, another mystery to be unraveled, or another topic for research. That is why I chose to become a developer and why I love every minute of it.After finishing up at NSCC I started working with a brand new startup with a couple of university entrepreneurs at Site2020. I was brought on as the lead (and only developer) and through that experience I got the chance to really deep dive into what it takes to learn on your own and strive in a fast moving industry like IT. To this day few things compare to the feeling of developing a brand new product from inception to market.After relocating to Saint John I switched positions to J.D. Irving as part of the application development team. This introduced me to the piece that had been missing at Site2020 which was working with larger teams, on multiple projects, and with more experienced developers. It has been a great experience where I have had the opportunity to continue to learn and grow my skills, both soft and technical.
