Eric is researching Artificial Intelligence with the NSF National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES). This research includes using custom AI transformer models to enrich NCSES datasets such as the Survey of Doctorate Recipients (SDR). Eric is also working on AI projects with The Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) at NSF to help classify awards and perform additional data analytics.

Eric helps government agencies, such as the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, leverage Elsevier technologies and data in custom projects and initiatives. Eric designed and built a tool clients use to download and process data from multiple Elsevier APIs and is designing and building custom AI models to help agencies join Scopus data with internal datasets and perform other data analyses.

Redesigned internal IT structure and process, supporting 30 locations nationwide. Managed national upgrade of MPLS network, and initiatives such as national VoIP, a centralized PACS imaging system for our MRI centers, HIPAA compliance, major infrastructure upgrades, and a patent-pending application using GPS data to optimize sales staff.

As Co-founder and President of Private Client Technologies (PCT), a Managed Services Provider, designed and automated the company’s sales and production workflow, creating a highly efficient and productive environment. With offices in two cities and clients throughout the Eastern half of the United States, PCT maintained almost a thousand computers efficiently and proactively. Eric lead all aspects of the business, relying on a combination of internal staff and outsourced expertise to deliver unique value to PCT’s clients. PCT was an industry leader through its consulting achievements and technologies.

Co-authored corporate development methodology that aligns with CMMI Level 3. Led financial services business development, Including marketing campaigns, sales and conference presentations, white papers, pre-sales support, and proposal materials. Managed Foliage’s financial services engineering staff. Performed staffing decisions, performance reviews, career planning, as well as hiring and training for Foliage’s financial services practice. Provided oversight and leadership of financial services projects, ranging from small strategy engagements to large development projects worth over $20 million.

Designed and implemented the company’s technology infrastructure, including Web Site, email and collaboration server, and other infrastructure needs of the company. Also authored several technology and vendor-related deliverables for clients, and was actively involved in business development, playing a key role in winning 80% of the business’s portfolio of projects.

Put in place a new competency-based evaluation system and staff reporting and mentoring structure for 75+ staff members. Also instituted new quality control and workflow processes, including Rational Software’s Enterprise Suite and Unified Process to automate and standardize technical development and project execution. Put in place formal Technical Reviews and other processes to ensure greatest leverage of experience and skill across the organization. These programs all served to dramatically raise both the productivity and deliverable quality of the consulting division.

Example Project: Led the development of an online knowledge management system for a 5,000+ person company that organized their IT activities and assets in one database, and created standards and templates for all future development efforts. Also led the Change Management effort, gaining buy-in from the technical teams and business leaders that would have to support the new system. These standards and templates not only allowed for consistent and compatible program development, but also reduced time-to-market of those new applications by 20% or more through the use of reusable components and methodologies.
