Eric is a proven project leader with over 24 years of combined heavy civil construction, water resources, and consulting engineering experience. Eric has led teams of 2 to over 30 multidisciplinary staff, through successful project execution of simple projects to complex multi-year projects valued at over $100 million. Eric grew up working in an open pit (gravel) mine Contractor in the lower mainland, BC. From labour duties, to mobile and stationary equipment operator, to pit production, estimating, survey and quality control, he has worked his way up. This experience provides Eric with a sound background and practical approach to his engineering consulting practice and problem solving.Eric’s experience includes earthworks, site drainage, stream diversions, river engineering, embankment dams, gravel pits, heavy civil construction, digital terrain modelling, construction documents, tendering, contract administration, and construction QA/QC. He also has extensive successful experience working with stakeholders and regulators prior to and during the permitting and construction phases.Eric previously grew a new business division from 2 staff to over 33 professionals, at a large global environmental firm. He was responsible for all leadership aspects, from growing the business, to recruiting, coaching, and overall business unit performance. He then started his own engineering firm, with one partner, and grew this to over 30 staff, in three offices, including an acquisition. Following the last downturn (2013/14), Eric led the restructuring of his engineering business. As the principal engineer at www.sweet-tech.ca, Eric continues to provide heavy civil, earthworks, and water resources project engineering and consulting to clients in BC and Alberta. SweetTech has experienced consistent growth over the past three years, in response to positive client feedback, return business, and a great group of professional, dedicated staff.
