Geophysical characterization; well operations, including geosteering. -Involved in planning, geosteering, and daily ops of 6 multi-lateral coiled-tubing-drilling sidetracks, including a penta-lateral. Through careful fault characterization and well planning, avoided $0.5 million contingency plugbacks on all 6 wells.-Involved in peer-review through AFE of 10 CTD projects of average $5 million CAPEX, 500 – 1,000 MBOE reserves, and < $12.1/BBL development cost. -Contributed to team pattern-health-reviews of 8 well pads involving integrating logs, faults, and reservoir surveillance. Responsible for all geophysical aspects of Kuparuk satellite fields and ILX near Kuparuk.-Improved regional stratigraphy and velocity model of overburden. Tied 65 wells from surface to TD. Using well tops, ties, and historic data, resolved poorly understood/documented shallow gas hazards at Tarn. Provided geological context for downdip Iceberg oil play via mapping and attributes. -Interpreted fault framework in Meltwater. Integrated with 4D seismic and, as part of multi-disciplinary team, incorporated drilling records and surveillance data to decipher history and mechanism of containment loss at Meltwater. Testified in hearings with regulatory agency to modify Area Injection Order 21. Special Thanks awards for efforts in developing teams’ strategy for hearings, for preventing immediate shut in of 2,700 BOPD production, and for team’s success in obtaining permission to permit and drill sidetracks in MW. Recipient of prestigious Archimedes Knowledge Sharing award for team’s sharing of MW study and its effect on containment initiatives across the company.-Integrated reservoir surveillance, faults, and 4D at Tarn to improve structure/stratigraphy relationship and compartmentalization understanding.-As geophysicist of multi-disciplinary team, planned, peer-reviewed, AFEd, and delivered 12 grass roots rotary wells in the Tarn field $110 million (net COP) CAPEX, 6.6 MMBOE (net COP) development program. -Developed updated Moraine structure, isochore maps, including previously unrecognized fault system. Processed seismic data as both a training exercise and as a valuable QC check on contractor’s results.-Processed 2D Deepwater Gulf of Mexico line through prestack and poststack time migration. Processed 500 km2 shallow-marine 3D survey through prestack time migration.-Extensive testing performed in each phase of 3D processing. Demonstrated contractor results reasonable and, specifically, slant-stack parameters justified.
