Calgary, Canada Area

As part of a team of other developers, we worked on a Capstone project in coordination with a trauma surgeon at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta to create a system to help determine the severity of conditions of patients admitted to the ward. This system implemented a neural network determine how far the patient was from a ideal baseline of health. The system used a micro-service architecture to facilitate the collection of patient vitals, the processing of vital date through the neural network, and the visualization of processed data to healthcare professionals. Some skills and technologies utilized included the following:- Javascipt with react-redux for front end visualization of data- Java backend services for data collection and serving- Python with tensorflow for creating the neural networkThis project included direct work with stakeholders including doctors and patients to create a system that was to their specifications and needs.

Calgary, Canada Area

At Pason, I worked with a variety of technologies to create integrated drilling data applications and systems. I collaborated within a team, utilizing agile development techniques to create high-quality products for our customers. My main focus at Pason was working with web based technologies such as React-Redux to create a live data viewer for visualizing real time and historical drilling data from anywhere. These technologies included many to make up a full software stack:- Web-based technologies: Javascript, React-Redux, HTML, CSS, flow- Testing: mocha, chai, jest- Back-end services and APIs in Java and Python- Performance and integration testing using Apache jMeter- Version control using git and Bitbucket- Task tracking using Jira

Trail Bc, Canada

Teck’s Trail Operations, located in Trail, British Columbia, includes one of the world’s largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes and the Waneta hydroelectric dam and transmission system. The metallurgical operations produce refined zinc and lead, a variety of precious and specialty metals, chemicals and fertilizer products.Responsibilities included: - working in the Zinc Melting plant at the operation site - mainly tasked with ensuring the melting furnaces were loaded with pure cathode zinc - this position put an emphasis on working within a crew of other operators to ensure quality products were being efficiently refined with the highest regards to the safety of all

My position at Redwood Engineering, a civil engineering firm, included duties such as: reviewing and reconciling discrepancies in structural engineering documentation. I gained valuable skills in my time at Redwood in that I was able to work in a formal engineering environment and learn communication techniques through interaction with the client using a variety of means, in order to create a deliverable that was to their specification.
