As a process operator I directly interacted with the process of creating aerospace grade carbon fiber. Some of my responsibilities included quality checks of the product throughout the process, fixing or gaining help for issues with process machinery, and ensure the work area was up to 5S, LEAN, 6 sigma, and KANBAN standards.

I worked in several roles for Kennecott Utah Copper Corp. For over three years I worked at their smelter in the hot metals department; specifically where we took molten copper and cast it into anodes (large copper sheets) that would be refined further. Later I worked in their open pit mine as a heavy equipment operator, focusing on haul trucks. My last position with them was at their electroplating refinery. This was the last stop before copper and other minerals were shipped to the customer. Like my position at Hexcel there was focus on 5S, LEAN, Six Sigma, and KANBAN at all of these positions.
