At NANA WorleyParsons, I worked under a contract with ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc (CPAI) on the Greater Mooses Tooth 2 (GMT2) project. GMT2 is an estimated $1.4Bn drillsite on the north slope of Alaska that is expected to produce 35,000 to 40,000 BOPD. My role on the project involved creating civil, structural and architectural design drawings, working directly with the client, providing independent check and inter-discipline design review, and designing in a collaborative 3D environment. In January 2020, I moved from Alaska to Idaho and became one of the few employees on the project to work from a 100% remote setting. Interestingly a few months later, with the outbreak of COVID-19, almost the entire project team was forced into working remotely. We were still able to complete our role on the project with minimal impact to schedule.

On several instances, I was called on to serve as a field engineer or fabrication coordinator. In these cases, I would work directly with fabrication and construction contractors at the project location.

There I worked as a mechanical draftsman and eventually as a designer on small to medium sized commercial projects. Our largest client was the University of Flordia, but we also did work for many local schools, restaurants, hotels, etc. My roles included creating HVAC and Piping design drawings, providing calculations and sizing equipment, working directly with project owners, contractors, and vendors, and conducting extensive field studies.
