Eric began his high school teaching career in 2012 in West Palm Beach, Florida. As a Florida science teacher, Eric received recognition for his work with students of diverse populations and low-socioeconomic backgrounds scoring above district and state averages on the state end of course exam in Biology. In 2014, Eric became a new teacher mentor as part of his districts Clinical Trained Educator Program. Through mentoring, coaching, professional development, and formal observation/evaluation, Eric supported teachers new to the profession to accelerate their professional growth. Eric continued his high school teaching career after relocating to Jacksonville, Florida. In 2017, Eric became the Science Department Chair and Lead Biology teacher for the one most populated high schools in the district at the time. Eric lead a department of fifteen educators to develop curriculum and deliver quality science instruction to all students. In 2018, Eric transitioned to a curriculum specialist position within the district's Department of Academic Services. Eric collaborated with senior leadership to create an alignment between curriculum, resources, instructional practices, and assessment gap analysts. The enhanced curriculum provided teachers and school based administrators impactful tools that contributed to an increase in student achievement and proficiency on state end of course exams throughout the district. Additionally, Eric facilitated professional develop for teachers of all stages in their career by customizing learning and development of teachers. In 2019, Eric transitioned to an Assistant Principal overseeing the safety, operations, and instruction of his assigned school. He continues to assess learning needs and skill assessments for both teachers and students by conducting gap analysis of school-wide data. Through the implementation of the 4-Step process, his leadership continues facilitate gains toward supporting student achievement and proficiency. Eric holds a BS in Biology Education from Florida Atlantic University and a MS in Educational Leadership and Policy from Florida State University.
