Fostered leadership skills among teens in Teen Science Café and Teen Climate Council by creating public speaking workshops and youth leadership trainings based on the leadership book Multipliers, collaborated with the VP of Development to speak with large donors and coordinate scientist speakers for Teen Science Café, collaborated with the VP of HR to construct a Multi-Tiered System of Support, and was invited by the CEO to attend the Blue Whale Gala which raised a record-breaking $650,000 to support education, conservation, and animal care initiatives.

Facilitated support groups in English and Spanish for families (Familia y Diversidad) and youth (Jovenes Solares) regarding topics of LGBTQ+ identities and their intersectionality with Latinidad, participated in outreach efforts to spread the organization's mission and vision, and crafted social media posts for fundraising during Give OUT Day.

Approved and rejected City of Long Beach mini grants to nonprofit organizations that provide summer programs for youth aged 8-24 residing in the City of Long Beach and that are most impacted by crime, COVID-19, poverty, and chronic health conditions. This program supports the goals found in the Long Beach Youth and Young Adults Strategic Plan.

Oversaw daily operations of youth volunteer programs within the Volunteer Services Department: Junior Exhibit Guides, Teen Exhibit Leaders/Youth Leadership Training, Ocean Neighbors, Ocean Neighbor Mentors, Aquarium Adventures/VolunTEENs, VolunTEEN Mentors, Teen Science Café, and Teen Climate Council. The UCSC Science Internship Program (SIP) provides motivated, advanced high school students with a unique opportunity to work and learn at a premier research institution.Analyzed data on eastern pacific (between Mexico and Peru) hawksbill sea turtles regarding marine protected areas, mangrove habitats, and threats; parsed through existing scientific literature in English and Spanish; conveyed findings in a 15-minute research presentation to an audience; and worked on an outreach paper to involve local fishing communities in conservation efforts.
