• Mitigate risks to the maritime transportation system by reducing vulnerabilities, countering threats, and minimizing consequences for all maritime stakeholders.• Coordinate a wide variety of sensitive and complex tasks encompassing the entire spectrum of maritime and port security.• Review and analyze new laws, regulations, and other directives impacting maritime security in the area of responsibility (AOR) and assist in implementing new directives.• Provide professional expertise, including risk analysis, assistance and recommendations to senior staff in implementing and maintaining required maritime security regimes necessary for the protection of navigable waterways, personnel, critical infrastructure and vessels from intentional destruction, loss or damage.• Contribute SME assistance for periodic validation of port-wide security assessments and develop, maintain and ensure contingency plans are updated, maintained, and exercised in accordance with requirements.• Initiate, plan, coordinate, produce, and execute a total package of simulation exercises and drills.• Ensure that the agency's mission essential functions continue to be performed during a wide range of emergencies as the Continuity of Operations (COOP) program coordinator. • Serve as agency spokesperson at public meetings and briefings related to maritime and port security.
