Erick oversees the restoration of disrupted business services ensuring that incidents are resolved following the Incident Management process and policies.Erick leads the Critical Incident Response Team for incidents which have a high business impact. This includes coordination and arbitration between support groups and external suppliers.Erick drives service excellence by advocating collaboration across departments. He has introduced simple key metrics to drive continuous improvement that deliver outcomes important to the business.

The Service Management for NAB's virtualised Infrastructure-On-Demand is a greenfields solution that was delivered as part of the Transformation and Transition program.Erick's role was to oversee the operations of the configuration management system (CMS) that stored infrastructure configuration items (CIs). From service definition in the catalogue, to provisioning, commissioning and retirement, Erick defined and implemented the policies and procedures for maintaining the CIs and the CMS.As a client-facing role, Erick regularly met with customers to gather new requirements and plan the implementation of the different phases of the transition program.Erick managed the service with a team of discovery software administrators and configuration librarians.

Erick was responsible for designing and implementing strategies for improving the stability and availability of midrange platform infrastructure. Erick worked on issues deemed as high priority by the executive and senior leadership teams.Erick's scope of the work involved enterprise-wide OS patching, software upgrades, and root-cause analysis of recurring incidents which spanned technologies such as clustering, n-tier web architectures, networks, enterprise applications and middleware components for both business support systems (BSS apps such as CRM, billing, messaging) and operational support systems (OSS apps such as order management and fulfilment).

Erick worked in a support team responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Solaris midrange platform infrastructure. Erick provided platform support in a 24x7 environment of Sun Solaris servers predominantly as domains on SunFire E25K frames.Erick was responsible for resolving high severity issues end-to-end which included liaising with third-party vendors to identify root cause.Erick routinely designed solutions to upgrade or maintain system stability. These solutions impacted multiple competencies and involved collaborating with teams both internal and external to IBM. These engagements included middleware, storage (SAN/NAS), clustering (VCS/Sun HA), database services, various application management teams and business owners.

Previously called nabCapital, NAB Wholesale is a division of the National Australia Bank Group (NAB). It provides an extensive range of funding, risk management and investment solutions with operations across the globe.Erick managed a team of system administrators responsible for the day-to-day operation of the platform infrastructure. The team's core responsibility was the resolution of incidents relating to midrange hardware and operating system, as well as infrastructure applications such as Citrix.Working in a demanding financial markets sector, the team provided onsite support on a 24x5 rotating shift roster managing infrastructures located in data centres distributed around the world.

Erick was the first point of contact for design requests and was responsible for allocating resources to projects. Erick provided consulting services such as high-level design overview, quoted on hardware and software requirements, and estimated network and infrastructure design effort required.Erick was accountable for the utilisation of resources by aligning the solution and requirements with the competencies, skill set and experience of each designer, as well as each designer's existing and projected workload.As the coordinator, Erick held fortnightly one-on-one sessions with designers who have various degrees of expertise in Windows, Linux and Unix technologies.

Erick took accountability for the resolution of incidents relating to Unix and Linux platforms. He mentored support specialists who come from a Windows background and upskilled them in Unix/Linux technologies.In a high pressured markets environment, Erick continually assessed the status of escalated incidents through the day to ensure that high impact and high risk issues are prioritised. He regularly made changes to individual priorities to achieve a service level that is inline with customer expectations.Erick built a close working relationship with Service Management and other Infrastructure teams to eliminate hand-offs of incidents and enhance the customer experience.
