Work as both a guitarist and audio engineer in a band that plays a wide variety of covers at all types of events, typically, weddings. As a guitarist, I must keep up with the band's repertoire, as well as any special songs that are required for each gig. As an audio engineer, I arrive at the gig early, help set up the PA/monitors/etc. and ensure the best possible audio quality for the event.

I write and record music through my own creative outlets. Wrote music in a former project, "Crimson Arrow", in which we as a band released one EP and two full length albums between the years 2011-2016. I released my own solo record under the alias, "Colin, the Rocket Scientist" in October of 2020 and continue to write music to be released in the future.

Worked as a FOH engineer, monitor engineer, and A1/A2 for various types of events requiring live sound reinforcement. Working as a contractor allowed me to work in a wide variety of settings. This primarily includes working at some of Houston's most esteemed venues, such as White Oak Music Hall, Warehouse Live, Mucky Duck, The Secret Group, and more, in primarily concert settings, both small and large scale.I also worked a wide variety of corporate style events and weddings as both a lead and secondary audio technician. One such event was working as the lead sound technician for the LinkedIn conference at SXSW 2019, featuring guest speaker, Mindy Kaling.I also worked as part of a team to put together large scale sound systems for various concerts and events, flying PA and tying in audio consoles with amp racks, processors, and to the various elements of the PA (LR, front fills, subs, delays, etc.)

In charge of front of house and monitor mixing on a part-time basis and engineer/mix for some of Houston's most esteemed musicians, with live music occurring 7 days a week.-Front of House Engineer/Mixer: setting up microphones, working and communicating with musicians beforehand on getting a decent soundcheck, and mixing audio for live performance, ensuring optimal audio level, ranging from jazz duos to full scale rock, latin, jazz, etc. type productions. Provide mix for both inside the venue and in the outdoor patio area.-Monitor Mixer, ensuring that all musicians are hearing a great mix of the audio while on stage through the monitoring system.-In charge of handling lighting technology to ensure the best visual experience possible for those watching the artist perform.-In charge of recording performances, when requested, ensuring the best audio quality possible.

In charge of all aspects related to audio. Duties include, but are not limited to:-Front of House Engineer/Mixer, mixing audio for worship and services, ensuring decent audio level.-Monitor Mixer, ensuring that all musicians/pastors/speakers are hearing a great mix of the audio while on stage through the monitoring system.-RF (Radio Frequencies) tech, in charge of wireless audio system, ensuring that all microphones and wireless receivers are ready to go for each service.-In charge of recording the sermons, ensuring the best audio quality possible.

Worked between 10-20 hours each week performing duties including, but not limited to:-Engineering live shows for broadcast for touring, local, and Berklee artists. This included setup, soundcheck, and mixing the show, which would be broadcasted live through Berklee's internet radio station. These shows were often also videotaped, and videos would be uploaded to the BIRN's YouTube channel.-Mixing broadcast for live shows for local and touring artists at Berklee's Cafe 939 venue. Shows would be broadcast live through the BIRN, and hosted live by me.-Assisted the broadcast mixer for shows for NPR radio when shows at Cafe 939 were being recorded for NPR.-Re-mixed shows that were broadcast that needed to be re-mixed.-Engineered and edited interviews in post, ensuring the best possible audio quality to be uploaded for use by the BIRN.-Assisted DJ's with troubleshooting when technical difficulties arose at the station.-Maintained the studio by cleaning weekly.-In the 2 years before becoming staff engineer, held and hosted my own weekly radio show, assisted in engineering, and occasionally shot video for live room projects.
