Manager of the Emergency Preparedness Program for the AHEC Campus, encompassing three schools in the downtown area of Denver, CO (University of Colorado at Denver; Metropolitan State University; and Denver Community College). Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Campus Emergency Operations Plans, COOP, and Infrastructure Protection Plans. Activating and managing the Campus Emergency Operations Center during emergencies and large campus events. The Campus Emergency Preparedness Department leads programs such as public safety training and exercise for students and staff of all three colleges, and coordinates with the City of Denver OEM, as well as the State of Colorado.

Aug/Sept. 05 deployed locally as a member of National Disaster Medical Service (NDMS) receiving evacuees from Gulf Coast to the Triangle area from Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, providing Logistics, Mass Care, Client Casework Svc, and training of new volunteers.

Standing duties included reviewing and providing guidance on exercises being conducted at the State and Local level. Maintaining DHS grant compliance of training and exercises being conducted in the State of North Carolina. Maintaining administrative authority over the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP), and Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for the State of North Carolina. Additional duties include, developing exercise programs to test and strengthen State and local EOP and COOP plans; Attending exercises across NC to support other State, local, and tribal efforts in exercise facilitation and evaluation; Serving as the Deputy EMAC Coordinator for NCEM. During state disasters, activated in the State EOC as a logistics specialist.

First point of contact for all communication to Hospital, and dispatch / admin. asst. for campus police department. Maintain and process information for DCI computer terminal. Asst. training of new personnel in Communications and PD. Provide quarterly specialized training courses to all Public Safety staff (and neighboring agencies) at the request of the campus Chief of Police. Most recently conducting programs to bring the department up to NIMS compliance.

Responding on all fire/fire related calls within the immediate service area of the Mineola Fire Dept. (also mutual aid calls when requested). These calls include (but are not limited to) fire suppression, rescue, medical first response, fire code violations, building inspections, etc.

System Status Controller 97/99 - Receiving and processing 911 calls for emergency medical situations, and maintaining EMD protocol. Dispatching appropriate medical units to emergency and non-emergency scenes. Maintaining coverage of service area by strategic posting and alerting on-call units. Fleet size (during peak call volume): Approx 60 MICU ground units and 3 MICU helicopters. Service area covered was apprx 18,000 square miles. ETMC-EMS had the 2nd largest 911 service area in the nation.EMT-B (p/t) 99/02 - Assess and diagnose emergency medical situations, provide patient care, and transport to medical facility of choice or specialty.
