Heading up the Business Affairs and Business Development responsibilities outside of North America, in connection with VEVO's international growth.Responsibilities - Expanding VEVO’s global reach by launching owned and operated properties in new markets. - Negotiating, drafting and monitoring all legal documentation for VEVO’s business outside of North America, in relation to content & rights acquisition, strategic partnerships, distribution, ad sales and service agreements. - Manage internal deal approvals processes with Executive Board and maintain contracts database, including all deal summary documentation. - Direct the Business Development strategy for all new markets, through new platform and syndication, as well as managing external counsel, Business Development and International staff. - Lead engagement with regulatory bodies, UK Government and European Commission. - Part of VEVO UK’s senior management team, structuring and leading overall business policies and priorities.Key Achievements - Increased VEVO markets from 3 to 12, in the space of 16 months, adding Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Poland, whilst making strong headway into Mexico, Argentina and Germany. - Completed licensing negotiations with local labels and distributors to make each new country launch relevant in the territory, as well as negotiating and contracting sales partner relationships for each market. - Contracted and negotiated the production of nearly 200 pieces of original content, as well as multi-million Euro brand partnerships. - On IAB Regulatory Affairs Council and ATVOD Scope Working Group.

Representing EMI Music Publishing's online and mobile exploitation rights on a pan-European basis. Responsible for the licensing of major online service providers, throughout Europe - including Apple/iTunes, Spotify, MySpace, Amazon, Google, eMusic, We7, Napster, AOL and Beatport, etc.Responsibilities - Negotiating, reviewing and drafting intellectual property contracts. - Working closely with the General Counsel for Europe at EMI, advising on licensing strategy and commercial terms. - Formulate and execute the business development strategy for premium licensing, in respect of maximising the commercial value of EMI’s repertoire. - Undertaking research and business analysis to identify licensing opportunities and to maximise the value from licences.Key Achievements - Led high profile licensing negotiations with Apple iTunes, Spotify, Google, Amazon, Nokia Comes With Music, Last.fm, Microsoft, VEVO and Virgin Media, amongst many others. - Representing the company and its objectives by appearing on panels and at workshops, at music industry events, discussing the intricacies of multi-territory intellectual property licensing. - Heavily involved internally in respect of all issues relating to the Digital Economy Bill and the European Commission’s review of Cross Border Rights Management. - Developed and standardised Pan-European Online Licensing schemes. - Contributed to Economic Insight work – including presentations on “The Long Tail of P2P”, “Should Collection Societies take Equity in Start-Ups” and the viability of “ISP Unlimited Models”.
