Campaign Manager
CurrentExecutive Director
Campaign Manager
Managed John Callahan's race for the open seat of Northampton County Executive.
Partner
Founding Partner with Brad Koplinksi and Dan Hartman at Penn Blue Strategies, a full-service democratic, political consulting firm. Our clients included a sitting US Congressman, two additional Congressional campaigns, a state House campaign, a state Senate campaign, and services for additional campaigns/organizations.
Campaign Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Congressman Ben Chandler’s DCCC Frontline re-election campaign. Managed a staff of ten, spread out over 19 counties in the newly reapportioned 6th district. Our field team made over 250,000 unique voter contact attempts and was one of the most efficient programs in the country. Oversaw the execution of our paid media program, putting ~16,000 GRPs on broadcast and cable TV. Our earned media program successfully pitched positive stories nationally to the New York Times, Mother Jones, Huffington Post, etc. Despite posting record fundraising quarters in each reporting period and operating a $2.5+ million budget, we were significantly outraised by our opponent in crucial Q3 due to an influx of national Republican and coal industry money. The NRCC outspent the DCCC 3:1 on TV and radio IEs. Also, opposition Super PACs outspent groups supporting us nearly 2:1. While we were able to outperform the President district-wide, it wasn’t enough to overcome a negative onslaught from our opponent and outside Super PACs who saw an opportunity to win a democratically-held R+7 seat by labeling Chandler as an enemy of coal and an Obama crony, which particularly hurt us in the district’s new counties.
Campaign Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Congressman Tim Holden’s primary campaign in a 76% new district. Managed a staff of five, spread out over three field offices in the newly reapportioned 17th district. The 17th district went from R+6, which suited Holden, to D+4 which made previous conservative votes difficult to reconcile. Our challenger was a self-funder who wrote himself at least a $400,000 check, raised another $500,000+ and was aided by nearly $1 million in outside spending by Super PACs. Added up, we were outspent on TV at least 2:1 in the final weeks. Blue Dog Tim Holden was unable to overcome a perfect storm of gerrymandering, anti-incumbent sentiment, outside money, a more liberal opponent in a liberal district, despite developing and executing a $1+ million budget, aggressive field plan, and receiving the endorsement of nearly every elected official, labor organization, and local democratic committee.
Campaign Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the top-tier Bucks County Commissioner race of Diane Marseglia and Det Ansinn as well as four additional row office candidates for Coroner, Register of Wills, Clerk of Courts, and Treasurer. Managed a staff of nine, which carried out an aggressive fundraising, earned media, and unprecedented voter contact program having surpassed 250,000 unique contact attempts by the end of the campaign. Developed a $550,000 budget which accounted for intensive field outreach and a heavily targeted paid media program. Coming into the campaign, the Republicans held control for 24 years straight, and we were unable to overcome their well-known brand or compete with their turnout mechanism. Marseglia was re-elected.
Campaign Manager
Ran a start-up for Schuylkill County District Attorney Jim Goodman in his bid for judge of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. Left campaign when I was offered the job of campaign manager for Bucks Victory. Goodman won both sides of a cross-filed primary.
Campaign Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Congressman Tim Holden’s successful re-election campaign. Managed a field staff of three, with three additional full and part-time staff-level interns. Ran an aggressive field campaign which saw over 110,000 unique contact attempts on the doors and phones, even winning the DCCC’s “Day of Action” national competition with limited staff. Fended off a primary challenge from the left, limiting the damage to our base, despite Holden’s vote against the ACA. Developed a $1.8 million budget which accounted for a heavy television presence in three media markets. In a year which many Blue Dogs lost, we outperformed Cook PVI by 5.2%, earning 55.6% of the vote.
Campaign Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of businessman Peter Schmidt’s challenger race from the ground up. Raised over $160,000, mostly from individual donors, despite running against a 23-year incumbent in 41.3 DPI district. Total receipts for the race were $237,378 with in-kinds included. Unfortunately we, and nearly everyone else with a "D" behind their name, got hit by the Big Red Wave in Virginia in 2009.
Campaign Manager
Brought in during the final stretch to insure victory in the open seat of the 157th district, in which we were successful. I managed primarily the field and day-to-day operations of the campaign. Paul was the first Democrat ever elected to the 157th district. Employed directly by the PA House Democratic Campaign Committee.

Recruited, identified and maintained Hillary Clinton supporters leading up to the Iowa Caucus; planned and/or staffed events for President Bill Clinton, Senator Hillary Clinton, Governor Jon Corzine, Governor Tom Vilsack, Secretary Madeleine Albright, Terry McAuliffe, Ambassador Joe Wilson and other notable surrogates; recruited, managed, and maintained numerous volunteers and five personal interns.
