By the time we had hired Eric onto the team, he was well versed with understanding how to deploy a nationwide 4G network based on his responsibilities at Clearwire. On the first day Eric was employed, I asked Eric to review some of the collo MSA’s we were looking at to identify issues before we signed the contract, and to my surprise Eric came out with an email that was a couple pages long with very critical issues that were quickly redlined to LightSquared’s advantage. In addition, given the startup nature of LightSquared, Eric brought in his equipment engineering and installation experience to quickly produce engineering requirements documentation, engineering change letter documents, and at the same worked extensively to design singlehandedly an outside enclosure that went beyond what our core vendor was proposing that was much more scalable and versatile for Lightsquared’s needs. I can go on and on and talk about Eric’s background whether it’s, equipment engineering, power engineering, installation standards, IP experience, transport background, strategic vision, data center design, or engineering/white paper development, but I’ll save some space on Eric’s LinkedIn account. The bottom line is, Eric is by far one of the best engineers I’ve ever worked with, and any company that is lucky enough to get him on their staff will have successfully obtained an asset that has the ability to generate a significant amount of revenue while Eric finds interesting ways to maximize the company’s profits at the lowest deployment costs.
