As a corporate trainer in the customer experience department, it’s been a privilege to work at the side of hundreds of employees going through training at BambooHR. Those individuals eventually face customers and I want them to be exceptional with every interaction. With that in mind, here’s a piece of my experience in this role:In-person and Remote Instructor-Led Training Opportunities- Lead both 1:1 and group training sessions; tailoring needs to individual learning abilities.- Creating/delivering content that is meaningful, hands-on, and helps bridge the gaps.- Meeting individuals where they are but also helping them see how they can excel!Content Creation, Collaboration, and Delivery- Identify and own improvements to content that impact the new hire experience.- Volunteer for and take ownership of content creation/process improvement projects (both large and small). These changes not only impact the employee experience but also make processes more efficient for our training team.Manager-like Responsibilities- Guide, coach, and lead both new and current employees to be successful contributors in their roles.- Evaluate performance and hold crucial conversations to help employees overcome hurdles and meet expectations.Culture Champion- Protect, promote, and take responsibility for the BambooHR Values!- Own my personal performance, constant learning, career growth, and contributions!- I am responsible to make my contribution count. This means I put forth my best effort each day, own mistakes, and do things better next time.- I know I don’t know everything. - Completed over 40 implementation projects which have helped increase the company's revenue.- Helped generate leads by representing BambooHR at an hr conference.- Assisted in the development of data import templates that elevate the data process for project managers and clients in implementation.

As a newly formed department when I started, this was a great opportunity to build and deliver value in the following ways:- Content suggestions that enhanced the department website.- Collaborated with the creative teams on campus to create and deliver quality media and website content.- Initiated and discovered several processes that delivered more time to key stakeholders in the department.- Interacted with or trained more than 500 students over a period of 3 years on technology that helped them be successful in school.- Owned the project, planned, and produced 6 video tutorials still used to train students on software meant to help with reading efficiency.

During my time at Netmark, it was a privilege to work on the following:- Collaborated with other interns and leadership to develop content for social media platforms.- Engaged with potential leads on Periscope.- Researched health and dental industry verbiage in order to create content for template websites.- Scheduled social media posts on Hootsuite.- Assisted in strategy and SEO collaboration research for a client.

Grilled Cheese Anyone?Toasties Gourmet Grilled Cheese was a micro business that gave a group of business students including myself the experience of operating and growing a start-up company. Over the 9 week period of operation, I learned how to coordinate among multiple departments, make time-based critical decisions, and meet the needs of a target group of customers. As a product manager, I coordinated with my colleague to launch 2 menu items that contributed to revenue growth within the last 2 weeks of the 9 week experience. The company as a whole generated over $16,000 in revenue over a 9 week period of time. My contribution to this growth included: - Management or support of 3 main marketing/sales events. - Conducting quantitative and qualitative research to gain customer insights. - Coordinated with finance, marketing, and operations in a fast-paced environment. - Negotiated deadlines with the State of Idaho Health and Safety Inspector. - Developed an awareness of the importance of cross-functional collaboration. - Gained valuable people/leadership skills while collaborating with 17 other individuals.One major key insight I gained is to learn how to treat people the way they want to be treated, in order to move a whole organization towards success.

Assisted the publicity director along with a small group of colleagues who were charged with the task of developing media for advertising. The mediums included posters, flyers, web banners, and social media. I gained first-hand experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I learned the importance of understanding not just my role, but how the department interacted with other departments such as University Communications.
