Eric was a Senior Manager in the Technology Risk Consulting group at KPMG. During this role, he had leadership roles in the Vancouver Cyber Security Services and KPMG Emerging Technologies sub-groups.Through Technology Risk Consulting, Eric led numerous complex engagements covering a broad range of infrastructure, risk management, and attestation areas including: IT governance; IT Control Assurance and Attestation, Third Party Assurance, Information Security Management (ISO 27001/2, ITSG-33, NIST, NERC, etc); Security Operations; Vulnerability Management; IT Policies and Procedures; Privacy Legislation; and Infrastructure Engagements (such as SIEM, IDS, and IAM).Through Cyber Security Services, Eric was helping clients develop solutions and capabilities across people, process, and technology layers to combat information security threats. From ethical hacking to developing cybersecurity protection strategies, he advised various government and corporate IT organizations across several industries and empowered business managers to prepare, detect and respond to cyber threats and make the right decisions to best safeguard their digital assets.Through the Emerging Technologies group, Eric served as a Digital Ledger Services (DLS) specialist and demonstrated significant experience with various Blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Hyperledger, cryptocurrencies and digital tokens. Eric advised, designed, and assessed multiple solutions and supported the KPMG financial audit teams across Canada as they engaged with auditing of Blockchain organizations, crypto-asset funds, and DeFi enabled financial instruments.

Eric was the Senior Manager within KPMG Canada that led the Vancouver Cyber Security Services group. His responsibilities included the sub-group’s overall marketplace and engagement performance, talent hiring and development, and service line growth.He has led numerous complex engagements covering a broad range of Cyber Security, infrastructure and risk management areas including: IT governance; information security management; security architecture design and support; security operations; vulnerability management; policies and procedures; privacy legislation; SDLC advisory support; Payment Card Industry Qualified Data Security Standard advisory support; penetration testing (SCADA, network, web and mobile applications); and infrastructure engagements (such as SIEM, IDS, and IAM).

Eric Rae was a Manager in the Vancouver Office of Deloitte, with experience in information technology and security management, policy development, threat risk assessments, and project management. He provided clients with technology knowledge, IT management practices, and risk based advice tailored to be clear and appropriate to the organization and its culture.He participated in numerous information technology and security engagements where he helped clients assess their current state, as well as, led the design and implementation of programs and solutions. This included developing policies and procedures, and IT strategies in support of business and technical requirements.Additionally, for Deloitte, Eric was responsible to the senior management team for individual and service line sales and managed revenue targets, resource scheduling and development, quality assurance activities, as well as, service line business management.

Acting under secondment with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Eric was responsible for developing and managing various information security strategies. As a representative for information security, his role included ensuring that the security strategies were aligned with VANOC's operational goals and corporate governance, and ensuring that the various web-based systems complied with the security strategies.Additionally, Eric was responsible for maintaining a web focused information risk management program, which included threat and vulnerability identification, and application life cycle activities both before and during the Olympic games.
