Eric Reed currently is a freelance photographer in Southern California. He began working as a professional photojournalist while attending The Academy of Art University in San Francisco in the early 1990’s.Upon completion of his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography, he began working as the Chief Photographer for the Argus-Courier a newspaper in Petaluma, Calif.. In 1998 he moved to the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, Calif. as a Staff Photographer at the Daily Press in Victorville. In 2000 he took the position of Staff Photographer for The Sun in San Bernardino, which included shooting for the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin of Ontario, Inland Living, Riverside, Redlands and Foothills Magazines. His last Staff Photographer position concluded in 2011 with The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Whittier Daily News, Pasadena Star-News and Rose Magazine to pursue both editorial and commercial client freelance opportunities. While working as a photojournalist, Eric has held teaching positions as Adjunct Faculty and Instructor at Victor Valley College and the University of California at Riverside Extension. He completed his Masters of Science degree in Photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara.Eric has photographed in 31 countries on four continents and has covered subjects from Presidential visits to Space Shuttle landings and the wildfires of the west.
