I am currently serving as a Digital Transformation Strategist at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI), where I support the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) through strategic oversight of Digital Engineering (DE) and Digital Transformation (DT) initiatives.In this role, I oversee complex projects from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with BPMI’s DE and DT goals. This work involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as leading cross-functional teams to implement advanced IT solutions that support a comprehensive Digital Engineering ecosystem. This ecosystem encompasses Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Thread Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Requirements Management, and the creation of Authoritative Sources of Truth.I bring a passion for driving modernization in software development tools and practices, with a strong focus on quality. Accountable for organization design, execution, and performance of a software engineering team that delivered medical SW applications utilizing cloud services, mobility, Bluetooth, and cellular technologies for a remote, connected care use case. Products were architected using a microservice/distributed architecture. Technologies included Angular, AWS, Custom IoT enablement, Kafka (for data transport), Neo4J (for IAM), MongoDB (for data persistence), HL7/FHIR (for interoperability), Android/iOS (for mobile applications)Led a highly technical enterprise software team through periods of high growth resulting in an increase from50 to 150 software engineers across 2 global locations (US and India) with a peak R&D budget of $25M.Led design and implementation of restructuring to meet productivity initiatives and a Global Software Teamorganization site strategy. This reorganization resulted in a reduction of R&D spend (~30%) and greater than 80% capacity to offshore locations.Adopted large-scaled Agile framework (e.g. SAFe) to enable execution of an increasingly complex connected care enterprise software application, including establishing separate release trains for application and platformassets. Led the Software Program Management team during this adoption.Transformed Test Engineering team function with focus on developing strong test automation assets to deliver reusable tooling for integration and user interface tests. Automated test coverage increased to 70% with a complimentary reduction to the manual testing resource team.Improved software competency excellence within the team by putting structural processes and tooling in place for coding standards, pipeline gates, and automated build testing. Company assessments of these areas yielded a 4 out of 5 rating.Launched & maintained a multi-tenant, cloud-based application which managed millions of connected device uploads & patient records per day accessed by tens of thousands of administered users.
