Supervisor of Engineering - Transmission Modeling at Puget Sound Energy (“PSE”) in Transmission Strategy and Markets.Transmission Modeling is focusing on long term transmission solutions to allow PSE to utilize renewable energy hot spots outside of the Puget Sound Area to feed those resources to PSE's load service area. This will allow a clean energy future for PSE customers help to reduce emissions from PSE electric supply to net zero by 2030. Previous Industry Experience Includes:Strong experience in power flow and transient stability analysis used for Generation Interconnection, Line and Load, Regional Planning and long-term transmission studies. Former chair of Northwest Power Pools Transmission Planning Committee. WECC Modeling and Validation Subcommittee member. Previously a member of WECC’s System Data Work Group while with the group I held the position of Base Case Coordinator. Formerly PSE’s Rep for Columbia Grid, now the rep for the new Regional Planning Organization NorthernGrid. Contract negotiations and management with interconnecting customers to PSE’s Balancing Authority Area (BAA), work most exclusively with Bonneville Power Association. Data Submitter and modeling for PSE’s BAA in the WECC approved base cases. Updated and maintained WECC documents-Base Case Compilation Schedule, Data Subcommittee Annual Survey, Base Case Compilation Scope of Work. Subject Matter Expert for multiple NERC standards. Including MOD-026 & MOD-027, Generator modeling and testing. Well versed in many important planning standards including MOD-32 and TPL-001. EMS Specialist at the Emergency Control Center for storm response. Additional studies and work experience: Loads & Resources report, Simultaneous Import Limit study, Total Transfer Capability Algorithm, PSE System Assessment, Attachment K presentation, Oasis posted PSE Plan. PSE Tech Specs document updates and manager. Applying FERV orders to PSE’s work product. Developed NorthernGrid’s Member Planning Committee’s Charter and Regional Study Scope in coordination with member representatives and staff. Member of NorthernGrids Technical Planning Committee and Member Planning Committee.Additionally have experience in Distribution Design for customer and service projects: line loss, fault current and line flicker analysis; Project Management; Project Billing.
