The focus of the thesis is the development of a non-contact measurement of soft condensed matter elasticity below the microscale using the AFM platform, where conventional contact mechanical models are no longer applicable.

I have helped in the organisation of three symposia, on the subjects of "Chaos"​, "Tommorow's Physics"​ and "Light Matters". Responsibilities included writing the minutes, finding and inviting appropriate speakers, and steering.
