After learning about Chica Project’s powerful mission of closing the opportunity gap for young Latinas and other Women of Color through a strength-based leadership program and mentoring, I was immediately inspired and signed up as a mentor. For five years, I volunteered and conducted research for the organization, which led me to pursue the Executive Director role. Chica Project was invited to Michelle Obama's "I am Becoming" book tour event and social media campaign in November 2018! Our video went viral on Twitter with over 83k views and retweeted by Michelle Obama with a note to us. In addition, our social presence has sky rocketed this year, being mentioned twice in the Boston Globe and the Daily Item Newspaper, featured in the Lynn Community Television and Boston Neighborhood Network TV Segments.➤ Oversaw administration, programing, and strategic plan of the organization➤ Administered fiscal management, fundraising, marketing, and community outreach➤ Worked with staff to collectively design organizational strategic plan
