Erik is a sustainable change specialist with particular experience in the built environment. He has worked in the public, private, academic and third sectors. His early career started in environment impact assessment, and later he focused on organisational sustainable change including social accounting and then social value. During his academic career as Professor of Sustainability he pioneered the methods now used by Realworth to understand and maximise the social value potential of projects and programmes. Erik has authored two books. The first (co-written with psychologist Cary L. Cooper( was 'Positively Responsible' (Butterworth-Heinemann) which dealt with ways to overcome the reluctance to make sustainable decisions. The second was 'The Coming of Age of the Green Community' published by Routledge which considered how and why pro-environment community groups emerge and persist, and in what direction they are likely to develop in the future.Specialties: Behaviour change and sustainable decision-making, organisational sustainable change, sustainable return on investment for built environment projects.
