Experienced semiconductor executive with expertise in scaling businesses, marketing technology products, and developing sales channels with global reach. High technology and management career spans more than 30 years, including periods at Altera, AMD, and Fairchild. Served as a board member and advisor at several venture-funded private technology companies.Appointed as Altera’s Vice President, Marketing in 1990 reporting to the CEO, becoming one of the valley’s youngest C-Suite executives and one of few African American corporate officers.During 19-year career at Altera, including 15 years as an executive officer, helped grow the company from a pre-IPO startup to a leading multi-national, Fortune 500 company. In addition to all aspects of marketing, experience includes engineering and general management P&L roles. Extensive international experience, particularly in Asia. Led the development of many of the product and market strategies that have defined today’s multi-billion dollar FPGA/PLD semiconductor business. As chief marketing officer, made frequent presentations to Altera’s board of directors on the Company’s product plans, pricing strategy and competitive position. Extensive involvement with Wall Street analysts. Played key roles in several acquisitions and strategic investments. Left Altera in 2005, holding the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing.Specialties:Board director, executive management, P&L, general management, new product development, product strategy, product management, market strategy, channel management, semiconductors, EDA, internet and communications infrastructure, intellectual property, digital media, acquisitions, strategic investments, investor relations.
