Ihc Quality Control Technologist
CurrentThe IHC Quality Control Technologist will utilize the knowledge necessary to assist pathology professionals with quality control activities to support Immunohistochemistry (IHC), specimen processing, embedding, slide preparation, microtomy, and other technical procedures performed in the laboratory. - Handles receipt, inspection and disposition of incoming reagents. Utilizes functional quality control testing in disposition of incoming critical reagents.- Perform high complexity testing and validation via IHC staining and western blot analysis, utilizing manual and automatic systems.- Successfully executes lab protocols and SOPs.- Prepares antibodies and other solutions for IHC staining.- SOP directed documentation in lab logs and the lab information system (LIS).- Maintain lab equipment and notifies leadership if repairs are needed.- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of tests results and take appropriate action- Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects to support the lab, as required.
