CurrentOversees legal, business ethics, regulatory affairs, and human resources departments of a NASDAQ listed micro-cap company that markets and sells dietary supplements via the direct selling channel. Supports HQ as well as the company’s operations in 26 other countries in the regions of EMEA, Asia, Australasia, and the Americas. Significant experience in FTC and FDA compliance related to sales and marketing of food and dietary supplements, direct selling, and franchising. Advises the company’s board of directors, assists with the agenda, drafts clear and concise minutes, and provides guidance on governance issues. Responsible for drafting the company’s proxy statement and reviewing the company’s required SEC filings and liaising with the company’s financial reporting team to ensure timely filing.Manages a robust IP portfolio consisting of more than 130 patents issued, granted, and validated in major global markets and more than 425 registered trademarks in 38 countries. Manages complex commercial litigation--including patent litigation and trademark oppositions—responsible for developing and implementing litigation strategy and assessing risk to manage costs and ensure that the company achieves the best outcome.
