I am a Research Associate and Lab Manager in the laboratory of Scott Edwards at LSUHSC. I conduct preclinical medication screenings in dependence, affect, and pain models of alcoholism. Our current research involves operant oral ethanol self-administration in Wistar rats, chronic intermittent ethanol vapor, and both electronic and thermal VonFrey. I am also experienced in various other scientific techniques including but not limited to Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and DNA recombination. My responsibilities as lab manager include supervision of personnel, equipment maintenance, supply ordering, and billing and administration. My passion has always been in the field of behavioral pharmacology and I feel very lucky to be able to work in a field where I can contribute to improving the treatment and understanding of patients struggling with substance abuse.
