I co-own Expressions Speech Therapy a private speech and language clinic located in Garden Grove, CA with my business partner Stacy DeRenard. I specialize and most enjoy working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing. My therapy focus is on using auditory-oral therapy techniques with the deaf and hard of hearing population in which the focus is on improving listening skills in order to increase oral speech. I have been working with hearing impaired children of all ages, including cochlear implanted children, to learn to listen and speak using spoken language. In addition, I enjoy working with children with auditory processing difficulties or Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD). I use a variety of evidence-based techniques that have proven to help increase auditory awareness and auditory perception in this specialized population. In addition, I am trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Links to Language, PROMPT, and Auditory-verbal therapy techniques.
