Maintaining an independent curatorial practice since 2007, Erin’s work is guided by an interest in experimental collaboration, sense of place, and expanded notions of culture. Her research-driven projects take various but highly participatory forms, working with a broad definition of art to bring audiences into a direct experience of particular places. She has produced projects with a variety of institutions throughout the US and Germany. Erin's research has focused on counter-cultural education and art practices, with particular interest in those activities happening in the 1960s American Southwest. Her writing has been published by University of Minnesota Press, University of Houston Press, Proximity Magazine, and more. She is a visiting lecturer at numerous schools and universities and frequently juries shows and awards.

I envisioned and implemented a year-round visual and performing arts program for CCA, a 36-year old contemporary arts institution in Santa Fe. CCA has an intimate project space devoted to the exhibition of never-before-seen work by New Mexican artists and a 6,000 sq. ft. renovated warehouse space that is flexible, presenting the best new art from all genres. I managed staff and budgets and curated the program that in 2014 includes 14 exhibitions and 45+ performances and public programs. I worked closely with artists to produce new experiences, for themselves and for audiences.

With Nina Elder and Nancy Zastudil, I co-founded and co-directed a seasonal off-the-grid residency program in Tres Piedras, NM.
