Collect health information while rooming, measure vital signs, administer vaccinations, complete point of care testing, conduct EKGs, splint injuries, assist with basic wound care

At the Environment and Policy Laboratory through the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology, I serve as a Research Assistant for a study involving the effects of built and social environments on stroke risk within populations of the southeastern United States in the Stroke Belt. Our team performs highly accurate, detail oriented audits of the regions under study through Google Earth and organize data collected through REDCap.

At Chelsea Retirement Community, I provided compassionate care by assisting residents with activities of daily living including grooming, dressing, transferring, toileting, eating, showering, and ambulating. Outside of ADLs, I also monitored vital signs, established strong relationships with residents, alerted nursing staff of changes in resident behavior and bodily changes, and charted resident updates each shift.

Collaborated with a team of nurses to ensure patient flow and complete notes, roomed patients, collected health history, communicated with patients, relayed wound care instructions, assisted with procedures and examinations.
