I am a dedicated, enthusiastic, hard-working, ardent champion of Science. I bring real world experience to my teaching, enabling me to excite and engage pupils of all abilities. I have high expectations and a drive for academic excellence, as well as a desire to educate the whole child and help produce creative, confident, and compassionate young people.I have experience teaching all age ranges, from primary school up to University level. I have been teaching at secondary school level since 2004 where I have taught:KS3- Biology, Chemistry, ICT, GeographyKS4- Biology and chemistryA-level- Biology, Psychology, Sociology, PE. My teaching experience has given me a unique perspective on different teaching techniques and skills, enhancing my teaching by making cross-curricular links. I also have thorough knowledge of external examination through my work for AQA and OCR. In addition, I draw on my experience as a published scientist who has conducted field-based research on animals as diverse as Blue Whales though to Fireflies. My real world experience gives my teaching an additional dimension beyond the National Curriculum. I also have further appreciation for how a school functions beyond the classroom due to my role as the Vice Chair of Governors at my local primary school.
