During this experience I worked on a 7th grade team. The school utilizes an inclusive model so I co-taught Mathematics and Language Arts class and taught a small Read 180 class. I worked on assisting students within the subject areas during a study hall period and provided extra support within the classroom. In the Read 180 class and the Language arts blocks I created a classroom expectation plan to help keep students on task and respectful to everyone within the room. I was requested by the general education teacher to implement this plan in her language arts block because the students were frequently getting out of hand. The plan turned over great results and she is continuing the implementation. I had the opportunity to work with a student who was hearing impaired and utilized her technology to make sure she was able to hear. I was able to make accommodations and utilize new technology to help all students during my time at the middle school. Show less

In the small group setting I created a classroom management system where students had to gain points to earn prizes. I participated in team and building meetings as well as communicated with support staff and paraprofessionals.
