I am a psychotherapist with significant experience working with people of all ages to overcome behavioral and emotional issues. I am currently licensed in North Carolina.With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish and a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, I have 14 years of experience as a bilingual [Spanish] outpatient therapist and have a successful track record of providing individual, group, family and couples counseling. I am a strengths-based and approachable therapist with sophisticated interpersonal skills that allow for empathy and an ability to easily relate to consumers.In 2013, I was fully trained with a team in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have worked successfully with several consumers in processing and moving beyond traumatic events. I have experience as a substance abuse group leader and am trained to administer the GAIN and SASSI assessments. In my current role, I am responsible for completing comprehensive clinical assessments, diagnosing for initiating mental health services, linking consumers to resources in their community, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans addressing personal, professional, and family relationship problems, and providing treatment to individuals who have significant complications such as cognitive impairment, behavioral problems, or social limitations.I approach therapy from a Cognitive Behavioral view as well as utilizing Reality Therapy and Experiential Therapy. I use concepts and techniques from these theories to see each client's entire humanity, assist them where they are in their mental and emotional wellness and help them transition into experiencing the life they want to live. In treatment, the clinical focus is on the co-created goals that guide treatment with consideration for all aspects of the client's life and the areas that are impacted by the maladaptive behaviors.
