• Oversaw and directed all media relations, publishing and design activities for the nation’s most visible and influential higher education association, representing more than 1,800 college and university presidents and chancellors from all sectors. • Crafted strategic communications plans to promote all Council programs, research and thought leadership activities in trade and mainstream press, resulting in regular appearances in top-tier trade and national media. Provided communication counsel to senior leadership team as well as member campuses. Built and maintained relationships with reporters at trade, national and regional outlets and provide context, sources, and on-the-record comment for higher education stories. Created inaugural social media plan for Council and provided direction for maintenance and expansion of social media efforts, including Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.• Oversaw editing, proofreading, and design of all Council publications and collateral material, ensuring graphic identity consistency, readability, and on-time delivery. Set direction for editorial content and design of The Presidency, ACE’s quarterly flagship member magazine (readership 15,500).• Mentored and developed 10 professional and support team members across three units.

Handled all media relations for seven-term member of House of Representatives who served on Committee on Appropriations. Partnered with legislative staff to craft strategies for addressing media requests regarding committee responsibilities and pending legislation. Worked closely with district office staff on home-state events and outreach. Managed official website, including redesign effort.

Assisted Drew University president in day-to-day and long-term operation of all aspects of the university. Advised president, vice president of administration, and other cabinet members on issues relating to students, staff and faculty. Represented the president internally and externally. Served as liaison with contracted government relations firm as well as local, county, state and federal representatives. Coordinated annual and special events, including major lecture series. Participated in presidential transition following retirement of President Thomas H. Kean.
