I am a theatre director who has worked on approximately 100 productions since I began my career. I specialize in immersive theatre, digital/theatre hybrids and new writing. My work ranges from San Francisco’s non-profit theatres to London’s West End. I started my career In San Francisco by founding the theatre company elastic future. elastic future productions were often performed in unusual spaces and combined theatre with live music, visual art, fancy dress parties, and multi-media. While in San Francisco I was also the Artistic Producer of Magic Theatre and Managing Director of Crowded Fire Theatre, both companies dedicated to new plays. I moved to London in 2012 heeding the call to adventure, and picked up an MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck, University of London along the way. My secondment was at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, where I revitalized the literary department and assistant directed large touring productions including the West End production of 12 Angry Men and Khandan at the Royal Court Theatre. While in London I directed notable productions that investigated how to create plays online using Google Hangouts on Air, broadcast live online via YouTube. Digital plays Longitude and Peek A Boo were commissioned by LIFT (London International Festival Theatre) and the new BBC venture TheSpace.org. Longitude played in the Tate Modern during the LIFT festival. The Speakeasy is an immersive theatre production that takes place in a custom-built venue in North Beach which includes a cabaret, casino and bar. Now performed over 100 times, approximately 15,000 guest have attended.As a director I efficiently time-managed & coached a cast of 35 actors, including hiring and training replacements and communicating with actors to maintain the quality of the show over its long run. As a creative leader I collaborated with the artistic team on storytelling and design to develop the best experience possible for our audiences. This extremely intricate production required precise coordination, quick problem solving, influence with numerous and various types of creatives, and morale boosting. This production has received major critical acclaim, including a rave review from the SF Chronicle.

As assistant director, I maintained the quality of multi-city tours for productions of Life of Galileo and 12 Angry Men. These shows were multi-million dollar productions with celebrity performers. Because each location is different, the touring productions required a steady eye and ongoing trouble-shooting.

Elastic Future is an experimental theatre company that creates original productions performed in unusual spaces. As Artistic Director of a small company I wear many hats. I developed material, cast plays, hired and managed designers, enforced production budgets, raised funds, marketed shows, and maintained relationships with the press. Our recent production Longitude utilized Google Hangouts-on-Air to create an instant global platform for an exciting virtual drama. This pioneering digital production garnered international attention and was featured in the Tate Modern and VICE magazine, among others.

The Magic Theatre is one of San Francisco’s most prominent theatres, producing 6 original plays and a gala each year. As resident producer, I met with hundreds of actors to cast dozens of roles, sourced new plays, and most importantly, ensured the on-time launch of each show. I also managed marketing, with a particular eye on the brand and voice of each production. I placed a great emphasis on data, and implemented Google Analytics and audience surveys. I also led the design process for a new website, was the press liaison, created all video content for the web, supervised graphics design and copywriting, and worked with front of house staff to ensure that our audience experience was seamless. I also worked at Magic as a director on Taylor Mac's world premiere The Lily's Revenge.

Crowded Fire is a small theatre with a national reputation for developing new plays. As Managing Director, I marketed our performances, wrote press releases and maintained relationships with the press, enforced budget discipline, and led our donor efforts. I also managed a team of volunteers and maintained communication with board members and resident artists.

As Office Manager I made bookings and planned parties, coordinated event schedules for all performers, and was the liaison between performers and party hosts. As a performer I played many different characters - providing age appropriate magic and puppet shows, balloon twisting, face painting, etc. for children. I was the top rated birthday princess in the Bay Area!
