I am a social epidemiologist currently looking for work or a postdoc in research, policy, and advocacy related to racial equity, mass incarceration and policing, and/or the commercial determinants of health. I received my PhD from the CUNY School of Public Health in the Department of Community Health and Health Policy and my MPH in Epidemiology with a certificate in Chronic Disease from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.I have several years experience partnering with advocacy and reentry organizations to conduct research related to incarceration and policing and have given numerous presentations on carceral topics including lessons we can learn from the HIV epidemic to protect people behind bars and the experiences of people who were incarcerated during the pandemic. In addition to this work, I've worked with Dr. Nicholas Freudenberg for the past three years to design three modules and hold webinars teaching about the commercial determinants of health.

The Beyond Jails team combines research with technical assistance and communications work, in collaboration with community advocates and government agencies, to build, implement, and evaluate reforms that reduce carceral control and improve community health and safety. In the coming year, the team is building a comprehensive approach in several focus states, connecting local-level and state-level work, especially on pretrial justice issues.
