Robert Frost shared, “Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can't, and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it.” I think somewhere in the middle we find a happy medium giving all people the skills to communicate their most dire needs and dreams. Obtaining a master’s degree in the Speech-Language Pathology field provided me with not only diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, but also a greater understanding of wants and needs. In 2018 I transitioned to the workforce, grew in my relationships, and found more hobbies in life. Through the ups and downs of it all I discovered that people’s breakdowns in communication cause majority of the issues we see in failed relationships. Relationships with ourselves, significant others, coworkers, bosses, and interests. I believe that somewhere underneath the passive aggressive tones, dishonesty, or silent treatments, we can create a more efficient way of communicating with those around us. I believe learning how we express and interpret communication signals is the key to any job or career success. I would like to bring these skills to my next great career venture. Let’s see if Mr. Robert Frost can put his money where his mouth is.
