I am an admitted South African attorney, specializing in climate change and international environmental law.MY PROFESSIONAL FOCUS INCLUDES:Legal analysis, research, review and opinions;Research-based consulting and technical input;Training and capacity development; andWorkshop facilitation, rapporteuring, and institutional support.I have a specific interest in climate change policy developments as well as ocean governance. Within the United Nations System, I have consulted for various UN agencies on climate change capacity development initiatives and training workshops. I have also drafted various research papers on a wide spectrum of international environmental law topics and regularly acts as a course moderator for International Environmental Law diplomas and online courses. I follow the UNFCCC process and am the lead Loss and Damage negotiator for the South African delegation to the climate change negotiations. I often consult to the International Martine Organization on various ocean governance matters and assist countries in the incorporation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements into national legislation. I absolutely love being in and around water .During 2010 -2020 I volunteered for South Africa’s National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) where I served both a lifeboat station and the helicopter unit as a rescue swimmer.
