As part of the GloLitter partnerships project working towards addressing the sources of sea-based marine plastic litter, this included developing a guidance document on how country level marine litter regulatory framework and legislation should be developed and integrated with national waste management legislation, including incorporation of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) Annex V and the London Convention/London Protocol. Developed template legislation, supported nine lead countries with the incorporation of IMO Conventions into national legislation and provided training during global workshops.

As part of the GloFouling Partnership project, assisting five Regional Coordinating Organizations to create and establish regional strategies and actions plans on biofouling management across respective regions. Develop a framework of guidance to support the establishment of regional strategies and actions plans for biofouling management. Conduct an information and rapid gap analysis exercise in the respective regions. Develop a draft regional strategy template on biofouling management. Participation in regional meetings

Developed a comprehensive plan and draft structure for the CITES introductory courses. Undertook a learning needs assessment, reviewed existing online courses and existing learning tools in the CITES Virtual College, reviewed needs expressed through implementation reports, conducted interviews with Secretariat officers, and other available information including recent decisions, researched additional subject area courses. Developed the outline for each of the general subject area courses, including the proposed structure as well as associated issues such as a course title, course description, learning objectives, target audience and proposed lesson topics. Developed the outlines of the following general courses: CITES – an Introduction, CITES authorities, CITES governing and scientific advisory bodies, Regulation of trade in specimens of cites-listed species: CITES permit system, Exemptions and other special provisions related to trade, Reporting requirements, Non-detriment findings ,Legal acquisition findings, Compliance procedures, Export quotas, Reservations and states not party to the convention, CITES and the marine environment and Management and disposal of illegally traded and confiscated specimen.
