Twelve Cities Nationwide

Implemented and managed a grass roots marketing and enrollment program to register uninsured individuals and families into the Together RX Access prescription savings card program in twelve cities:Memphis, Tennessee; Dallas, Houston, Corpus Christi, McAllen, El Paso, and San Antonio, Texas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando and Miami, Florida, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.The program exceeded annual enrollment goals while coming in under budget each year. The program enrolled over 160,000 people and provided information and assistance to another 75,000 uninsured individuals during more that 1,800 events.

Houston, Texas

Project Wave Inc. was a non-profit organization that created an HIV/AIDS awareness and testing campaign in fifteen cities nationwide. The program worked with city, county and state governments.As ED I was responsible for overall organizational operation, outreach to funding partners, including health departments, clinics and testing sites while insuring program integrity. The program tested over 81,00 people (including 1,052 in a single day) and counseled over 141,000 people over a five year period.

Houston, Texas

Responsible for the total operation of two of America's most historic and prestigious "Urban Contemporary" radio stations. After takeover in October of 1993 the stations ratings doubled in its target demo, while at the same time sales and operating profit both experienced double-digit growth. Clear Channel purchased the stations in 1995 for $75,000,000 and sold them five years later for $440,000,000. During that five year period KMJQ/KBXX were the most profitable radio stations in the Clear Channel Company generating 67% profit margins In1997 and 1998. KMJQ/KBXX were recognized locally and nationally for their outstanding community service efforts. In 1997 KMJQ/KBXX organized and excecuted the "Roll to the Polls" campaign. That campaign brought out the largest turnout of African-American voters in the history of Houston, and resulted in the election of Houston's first African-American mayor Mayor Lee P< Brown

Norfolk, Virginia

Responsible for total operations of both stations, including all aspect of day to day operations. WOWI-FM grew from the fifth ranked radio station (12+) two years after takeover to number one (12+)During my tenure as VP/GM the radio station combo showed double digit growth in ratings, revenue, and profit margin.

Memphis, Tennessee

Responsible for total operations of one of the premier "Urban Contemporary" radio stations (WHRK) and the oldest "Black Formatted" radio station (WDIA) in America. The stations were purchased for $4,000,000 in 1984 and sold for $14,000,000 in 1987. WHRK-FM was rated the number one station (12+) in Memphis for nine consecutive rating periods and was "Urban Station" of the year nationally in 1987 and 1988. WHRK/WDIA maintained an incredible 27.7 share of the Memphis market from 1986 through 1989.
