About David Schwartz

As a seasoned business executive I have operating experience as a Founder, chief IP executive, serial inventor, and entrepreneur. Today I’ve translated my experiences as an author, course creator, & instructor. I am able to provide utility patenting expertise from the "Inventor Point of View". Sharing my years of knowledge in patenting, I’ve published my IP SAVVYS Book and the more dynamic, self-paced on-line IP-BC course . My years of experience working as a company founder inventing and licensing my own patents, technical product marketing manager, industry marketing manager, sales director, Intellectual Property/licensing officer and software engineer in high tech companies, uniquely provided me the motivation to now give back and provide others what I have learned as successful guiding principles to file first, right the first time. During a 30-year period, I drafted/filed my patents pro se, secured a global portfolio with over 30 utility patents (including the seminal patent on "a surface computer", and licensed over 250 non-infringed claims for royalty bearing sales. I have worked closely with Patent Counsel and PTO Examiners and by doing so, I can now bring a complete Inventor Point of View to the patent drafting, prosecution, and publishing process.I developed my proven system, which I call The Schwartz Method (TSM), into a "patenting model" for CEO's, innovators, and every IP hunter in between...including patent counsel. I have transformed TSM patent drafting into an Online Course as Intellectual Property Boostcamp (IP-BC) and the book Utility Patenting for IP SAVVYS. Both share my proven system for drafting airtight utility patents “First Filed, Right-First Time.” Please explore details on each. The IP SAAVY’s approach embodied in my book and IP-BC course is the only utility patenting course you will ever need. It offers a framework for IP acquisition based on TSM (The Schwartz Method) for acquiring utility patents with Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA). I show how TSM can be integrated into the product development lifecycle using my BBT model (Big Bang Theory of IP Capitalization) for sequencing patent filing with the product development lifecycle. Using a post AIA point of view, I focus on how to accelerate MPEP compliant utility patent formation with innovation players that are experts as well as those that have little to no formal patenting knowledge. The IP SAVVYS Book is a great starting point and works well alongside the Course. IP-BC is a Do-It-Almost-All Yourself (DIAAY) MPEP compliant tool using TSM universal patent language and guiding principles. In the journey down the IP corridor of uncertainty, I show you how to refocus on and reformulate your (and/or your team’s) patent strategy. Use TSM & BBT to identify and revise critical path patent workflows. Take TSM on your pathway to patentship and achieve quality utility patents that have strategic competitive advantage. When you apply TSM best practices, you will reach your patent goals at the lowest cost, with highest quality, and greatest speed. In our First-To-File world put us into your practice to ensure your patents are “Filed First, Right-First-Time”. Show less
