About Esha Rao
I am a purpose driven strategist, researcher, and advisor. My goal is to create meaningful experiences through impactful strategies, products, and services. I am passionate about working on complex development challenges, understanding the human experience, and uncovering ‘aha!’ moments through strategic design methodologies. I’m currently a Strategic Design and Management masters candidate at the Parsons School of Design, New York, and have an undergraduate honours degree in Economics.I'm a strong problem solver (with the ability to go from 30,000ft to the weeds of a challenge) and have experience in cross-functional stakeholder management (having advised social enterprises, govt., large foundations, etc.). I also have significant experience in qualitative and quantitative user research. I have used design thinking research methodologies such as in-depth ethnographic interviews, observations, etc. and design tools like problem framing, empathy maps, ecosystem maps, user journeys, opportunity mapping, etc.Before joining Parsons, I worked as a Senior Manager Strategy and Operations at Amaha, a mental health startup, and as a Project Manager at Dalberg, a global development consulting firm. I've led multidisciplinary teams across design thinking and strategy projects in education, gender & tech, healthcare, and agriculture.
