About Emerson Stepp

I received my M.Arch. from the University of Minnesota in 2012 and have been working on my M.S. in Sustainable Design subsequently. Prior to graduate school, I received a B.S. in Architectural Studies from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2008. I have a passion for learning and a thirst for knowledge that I am constantly striving to sate. I value curiosity and compassion, which i believe go hand in hand with sustainability. I believe that compassion is the cornerstone of sustainability and that architecture should come from a place of compassion as well as imagination. I think collaboration is an integral part of the design process and have found that my best work, both in school and out, has been done while collaborating with others, whether designers or community.
