I lead on all marketing and communications activities across the charity. Highlights from my time at Book Aid International so far include:- Played key role in developing and launching 2017 to 2020 Where Books Change Lives strategy, including messaging, developing a new vision and values statement and implementing these changes across the organisation - Raised charity’s problem amongst key target audience, securing extensive book trade press and national coverage of the charity’s work in Iraq- Maximised engagement with digital channels, growing the charity’s social audience, increasing email marketing subscriptions and opens and creating new donate and shopping platforms for the charity - Created award winning brand video which motivated significant gifts, won four EVCOM awards, was a Charity Film Award finalist and was cited by CharityComms as a best practice example: https://vimeo.com/290882845 - Launched charity’s first digital annual review focusing on impact - Revised content strategy to focus on using stories to show impact and collated content from across Book Aid International’s global network of over 90 NGO, library and government partners

My responsibilities included leading on all print and digital VAL communications products, content strategy and all VAL marketing activities. Highlights from my time at VAL include:- Managed VAL intranet, ensuring employee engagement across all teams and services- Directly managed six staff members to deliver outstanding communications which met VAL’s strategic objectives within defined budgets and exceeded contract expectations- Developed and coordinated communications plans, campaigns and products for VAL’s 12 services as well as for the parent brand which led to increased service uptake- Collaborated with VAL Policy Officers to develop reports which translated complex policy information into clear guidance for the local Voluntary and Community sector

I held lead responsible for all IDV communications, the charity's online presence and for attracting new supporters. Highlights included:- Developed IDV narrative, multi-channel communications strategy, website and communications products using a team of volunteers and a budget of less than £5,000- Led integrated fundraising and communications campaigns which raised £546,074 and recruited 300 volunteers, allowing the charity to support over 14,000 disaster survivors- Built supporter base from scratch to 5,938 people across three major channels and achieved an average email open rate of 30%- Created communications which converted volunteers to fundraisers, with every volunteer raising an average of £912- Positioned IDV as the go-to disaster response partner for Forbes Top Ten Company GlobalGiving resulting in direct grants to the charity of over £70,000
