Charlie Blake collaborated with the Director of Community Outreach at the Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility (SMNF) to construct a community development grant proposal aimed at improving teen outreach programs dedicated to at risk youth groups. These efforts, in conjunction with coordinated grant indexing, were instrumental in identifying potential funding sponsors to assist with the program administration, financing, and eventual communal implementation.

Charlie Blake studied and performed analytical research under Health Economist Jim Marton. During this time, Charlie Blake developed a health economics research publication entitled "Who Gets Retiree Health Benefits" (AYSPS, July 2010). In this work, Blake applied data and regression analysis regarding large health and retirement data sets and used economic modeling with data analytical tools to formulate report findings.
